HxH2011 is fun to watch, and I keep up with it every week! I’m very happy to be able to see these characters in action again.

I also appreciate that the quality of animation has been consistently solid so far, especially considering that it is a long-running Shounen series. But, comparing the original to the remake, I feel like the original had a more thoughtful and artistic approach to the material. The storytelling and characterization of HxH2011 feel rather streamlined, and the visuals (designs, color, staging) and music are well done, but a bit too straightforward when it comes to mood-setting for my taste. Those aren’t bad traits, but I was really inspired by the subtlety and atmosphere of the first show under director Kazuhiro Furuhashi.

All in all, it’s a solid remake so far, and I do like it! I hope it does well so that more fans can enjoy Hunter x Hunter and that we can see the later manga arcs animated! ( ﾟ▽ﾟ)/
